Funerals

Marking a life with meaning

Saying goodbye is never easy. A funeral ceremony offers the chance to pause, reflect, and remember – to honour a life, express love, and acknowledge loss.

As a celebrant, I’ll work closely with you to create a service that truly reflects the person who has died: their character, their story, and the impact they had on others.

Whether you want something quiet and traditional or more informal and personal, I’ll help you shape a ceremony that feels right for you and your family.

A personal approach

Every life is different, and so every ceremony should be too.

There is no single way to say goodbye. Some families find comfort in sharing memories and stories; others prefer a simpler approach. You might want a few light-hearted touches, music that held meaning, or space for others to speak.

I’ll spend time listening to your wishes and gathering thoughts about your loved one’s life. I’ll then write and lead a ceremony that brings everything together with care and sensitivity.

The service can include

  • A tribute or life story
  • Readings or poems
  • Favourite music or hymns
  • Quiet moments for reflection
  • Words from family and friends
  • Elements of faith, spirituality or none at all

Supporting you

I know how important it is to feel supported at a difficult time. I aim to make the process clear and calm from the start, working with your funeral director or planner where needed, and ensuring you’re comfortable with the content before the day itself.

If you’re unsure about what you’d like, that’s completely normal. We can take it one step at a time.

A note on beliefs

Whether you’d like something completely non-religious, spiritual in tone, or incorporating elements of faith, I’ll respect your wishes and create a ceremony that feels appropriate and authentic.

There is no fixed format and no obligation to include anything that doesn’t feel right.

If you’d like to speak about arranging a funeral or memorial ceremony, please do get in touch. I’ll take the time to listen, answer any questions, and support you in whatever way I can.
